Pabongka Rinpoche was one of the 20th century’s most charismatic and revered Tibetan lamas as well as a teacher of Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Certainly when we read and study his text, Liberation in the Palm of Your Hand, as we do together with Jampa in this series of classes, it’s easy to understand why. In his famous 24-day teaching on the lam-rim, or stages of the path to enlightenment, Pabongka Rinpoche weaves together lively stories and quotations with frank observations and practical advice to move readers step by step on the journey to Buddhahood.
Lama Zopa encourages us all to study and do retreat on the lam-rim in order to achieve realisations and benefit beings as swiftly as possible. Note too that this teaching deepens the foundation teachings of Discovering Buddhism.
