The Mind at Rest – Introduction to Non-Meditation

with Renate Ogilvie

Expectation and the craving of achievement are the twin obstacles in the Western mind that prevent us from leading a serene and relaxed life.

By contrast, if we learn to simply observe our mind and befriend it without expectation or judgment, we allow it to relax, expand and be at rest.

Introduction and some very brief practical exercises. Q&A. Beginners & experienced meditators welcome.

Date & time: Friday 26 January; 7.00-8.30pm

Cost: $25/$20 VI members.

About the Teacher

Renate Ogilvie is a psychotherapist in private practice.

She has been teaching Tibetan Buddhism for 26 years, at the request of her teacher Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

His recent teachings on greater emphasis on experiential practice inspired Renate to focus on non-judgmental techniques.

The aim is to relax and transform the Western mind, and to prepare us to cope with the problems of living in an increasingly perplexing and demanding reality.
