Event Details

Qigong is performed as a series of repetitive movements to produce Qi for vitality and reduce tension. Qigong is a strong component and a necessity for a good Taichi foundation and will equally benefit beginners of Qigong and those who have already a background in Taichi.

Introduction Standing Qigong Workshop

A basic and practical understanding in working with physical alignments to release stress, long held body habits and calm the mind.
Using correct alignments and grounding with awareness, we cultivate mind, Qi and space to free up the body bringing relaxation, relieve chronic pain, release stagnant energy in blocked joints, lymph nodes, creating good overall blood circulation and generally revitalising the organs.
This results in a feeling of well being, body awareness, mind body balance and stability. Through dedicated effort and practice you can unleash deeper layers of emotional and mental stress.

Yoga mats provided but if you have a favourite please bring it along.

Those with injuries will be catered for with special considerations within the practice.

Supplementary Tai Chi loosening exercises will also be introduced.

This workshop will review content covered in the previous class plus new, additional instruction for the Standing Qigong workshop. Beginners most welcome!

In later workshops, Neigong (internal power work) and Qigong set practices will be gradually introduced to further develop and deepen from the basic Standing Qigong practice. These includes working with Breadth, Openings and Closings, clearing channels, Medical Dragon and Tiger Qigong, Circling Hands Qigong, Energy Gates Qigong ..to name a few.
