Fathom the Mind. Heal the World – but how? Can contemplative science help lead our community through the global mental health crisis?

About the teachings

Dr. B Alan Wallace has established the Center for Contemplative Research (CCR) to help address the various global crises we face. CCR is a network of centers where trained contemplatives meditate for months and years to uncover the origins and potentials of consciousness, and factors for sustainable wellbeingworking with leading scientists in this endeavour.

Re-imagining the discipline of contemplative science, Dr. Wallace gave a public lecture titled “Fathom the Mind: Contemplative Science Can Heal the World” at the University of Canterbury in December 2022. Beginning with a guided meditation, an edited version of the lecture will be screened followed by a panel discussion with experts and audience Q&A. Attendees can learn about the CCR project and its potential positive impact on mental health.

Expert panel: Dr Tiziana Torresi (University of Adelaide, School of Social Sciences), Martin Ström (Psychologist, author and public speaker), Scott Abbott (Executive Director CCR Asia Pacific).
