About the Teaching
In this introductory course on mindfulness, we will explore the meaning of mindfulness, the process of nurturing this quality and the benefits that arise from this. Skilful application of mindful attention can help to calm the reactivities of body and mind, much of which are due to our habitual reactions to stressful situations. With developed mindful awareness we can also uncover the deeply held misconceptions about ourselves and our relationship with others that contribute to our distress and unhealthy behavioural reactions. Simple meditation practices and integration exercises will be presented in this course along with the theoretical framework for understanding how mindfulness works in conjunction with other mental qualities.
All are welcome; no prerequisite required.
Each session consists of a mixture of explanations, guided meditations and time for discussion or Q&A.
